On WestSouthwest, the new executive director of Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation, Sean McCann. And the Michigan Campaign Finance Network breaks down the latest Congressional fundraising numbers in Michigan. 

  

Former State Representative Sean McCann has been named the first Executive Director of Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation. Before his four years in the state House, McCann served ten years on the Kalamazoo City Commission.

The Michigan Campaign Finance Network has compiled the most recent numbers on money donated to candidates running for Congress in the state. The network's executive director Craig Mauger says five Congressional races in Michigan attracted at least $500,000  in donations during the first quarter. That includes the 6th District race in Southwest Michigan where Republican Congressman Fred Upton faces a challenge from Democrat Paul Clements. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
