Doug Stanton's book The Odyssey of Echo Company: The 1968 Tet Offensive and the Epic Battle to Survive the Vietnam War introduces us to Stan Parker. Stanton, who lives in Michigan, says Parker had yet to tell his story when they met, so the author tried to help bring it to light. Stanton was interviewed by Zinta Aistars for WMUK's Between the Lines. A segment of this interview originally aired in December.
Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to summer tourism season in Michigan. That drive to the Lake Michigan shoreline, or a longer trip to the Upper Peninsula may find that trip over roads in very bad shape. The Citizens Research Council examined the way road funding is distrubted in Michigan. The CRC's Research Director Craig Theil explained why that system is inefficient.
