Singer-songwriter Aaron James Wright joins Cara Lieurance to talk about A Little Stronger, his first solo album, and the friendships that helped bring the songs to life. They listen to "Blue at the Green Top" - a reference to a beloved downtown Kalamazoo tavern - as well as the title track, "A Little Stronger," and "Can't Go Back."

Wright will perform the full album in an acoustic set at 8 pm Friday, Jan 31 at Final Gravity Brewing Co.  in Kalamazoo.

One contributor stands out as Wright talks about the album: recording engineer/producer/instrumentalist Mike Roche of Broadside Productions,  Wright says he wrote most of the songs for voice and guitar, sharing "raw" versions on Facebook. Without his knowledge, Roche, a longtime friend, took one of the songs and spent hours fleshing it out in the studio. Wright says it brought him to tears to hear his song after Roche surprised him with the new track. After that, they worked on creating the album, with Roche continuing to perform on the tracks, engineer the record, and produce the album.
