The two primary tunewriters of the jazz quartet Spin Cycle, saxophonist Tom Christensen and drummer Scott Neumann, say they prefer a setlist that can take them in all kinds of directions. The members of the group, whose members are veterans of the New York jazz scene, have the chops to satisfy that desire, as heard on two cuts from the album "III": "Drain the Swamp" and "Matawan." In the studio with Cara Lieurance, Christensen, Neumann and Western Michigan University jazz professor Matthew Fries preview their concert at 7:30 pm on Friday, Oct 20 at the Crawlspace Theatre in Kalamazoo.

Tickets and more information are at the Crawlspace Theatre website.
