Supporter of Saugatuck-Douglas consolidation says it could save money, improve service

The Associated Press

Voters in Saugatuck and Douglas could decide this year if the two cities will consolidate. Petition signatures to put the issue on the ballot are to be submitted Tuesday.

The chairman of the group leading the effort to consolidate the two cities says it would save money and streamline government. Travis Randolph was interviewed Tuesday on WMUK.

Randolph says with one streamlined government, services could be improved in the combined towns.
