Grand Rapids symphonic rock group, St. Sinner Orchestra, celebrates the release of One Long Year with a June 27 album release concert. They will be joined by local music luminary David Molinari.
One Long Year is a concept album that follows a protagonist through a year that starts full of hope and new love, and slowly devolves as the months go by. Each song gives a further glimpse into this character’s interior life. This, their third album, was recorded by Joel Ferguson at Plant Sunday Studios and includes guest appearances by The Accidentals and Ryn Tarsy.
In Friday’s concert, composer/frontman Greg Scheer will be joined by bass, drums, and a ten-piece string orchestra drawn from all walks of life, from teachers to members of the Grand Rapids Symphony. You can expect to hear old favorites, a brand new song, and One Long Year in its entirety. You can also look for collaborations between the musicians of St. Sinner and David Molinari’s band.
