Album Moves Percussion Music Forward With New Works

The new album by the Coalescence Percussion DuoAlternations, was given an album release concert last month as part of the Western Michigan University Bullock Performance Institute Series. Prior to the concert, percussionist Judy Moonert spoke about the release at WMUK.

The duo - Judy Moonert and Greg Secor - recorded the album in the Dalton Recital Hall at Western Michigan University, with engineer Bryan Heany. They focused on new works for percussion duo written by Bill Ryan, Joel Harrison, Christopher Deane, C. Curtis-Smith, and Michael Daughtery. 

Cara Lieurance covers local music with live morning interviews, and produces WMUK's Let's Hear It weekday mornings at 10 am Mon-Fri, showcasing local interviews and performances. She also produces The Pure Drop, an hour of Celtic music, with musician Dave Marlatt.
