St Augustine Cathedral Organist Holds Public Concert Friday

Tom Fielding

With works like Haydn's Pieces for a Mechanical Clock, Arvo Pärt's Annum Per Annum, plus classics by Bach and Widor, the table is set for an organ lover's feast, tonight at 7 pm at St. Augustine Cathedral in Kalamazoo. The soloist is music director Tom Fielding, who established a free public concert series, called Sacred Music at the Cathedral, five years ago. Fielding talks to Cara Lieurance about the program and appreciates the Kalamazoo music community's rare level of music literacy.
