Western Michigan University’s Sunseeker solar car tied for third place in the Formula Sun Grand Prix in Austin, Texas last weekend. And the engineering students on the Sunseeker team aren’t done yet.
Starting July 21 they'll race the car against other college teams in the American Solar Challenge. That takes the Sunseeker on a more than 1700-mile course to Minneapolis.
By necessity, teams try to use as little energy as possible to reach the destination.
