$19-Million and Counting Spent on TV Advertising in Governor's Race

WMUK

Spending on television advertising in this year's race for governor has reached $19.2-million with five weeks remaining before the election.

A news release from the Michigan Campaign Finance Network says advertising will likely top $30-million in this year's governor's race.

Advertising time  has been bought by the campaigns for both Republican Governor Rick Snyder and Democratic challenger Mark Schauer. That has been supplemented by purchases made by the Republican Governors Association and the Democratic Governors Association.

The network's analysis finds that Snyder and groups supporting him have spent $9.9-million through September 29th. Schauer and the groups supporting him have spent $9.3-million.
