WMU Board Gets New Trustee, Johnston Reappointed

Governor Rick Snyder has appointed a new member to Western Michigan University's Board of Trustees. A current trustee has been reappointed. 

Jeffrey Rinevelt of Ann Arbor will take a seat on Western's board. His term begins January first. According to a news release from the governor's office Rinvelt is a principal venture capitalist at Renaissance Venture Capital Fund. He replaces Jeanne Carlson, who was appointed by then Governor Jennifer Granholm. Carlson's term on the board ends December 31st.   

Snyder also announced on Thursday that he is reappointing Bill Johnston for another eight year term on Western's board.  Johnston is the chairman of Greenleaf Companies. 

Terms for both Johnston and Rinvelt run through December 31st, 2022. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
