New Laws Will Regulate Mixed Martial Arts in Michigan

MPRN

(MPRN-Lansing) Governor Rick Snyder has signed new laws to regulate amateur mixed martial arts events in Michigan.

The state will require fighters to take blood tests before matches to detect blood-borne diseases – as well as drugs and alcohol. And fight promoters allowing a boxing or MMA professional to fight an amateur will face felony charges. The new laws take effect in 90 days.
