For the second time in less than a month, a state elections board has rejected a recall petition that targets Governor Rick Snyder over his handling of the Flint water crisis.
The bipartisan Board of State Canvassers ruled the hand-written petition did not clearly and factually give its reasons for recalling the governor.
The petition was submitted by Detroit pastor Angello Scott Brown, who says he will try again.
“I’ll refine my words, and I’ll continue to get to the point, and to state the facts, and you know, we’re getting to the point where we’re insulting the intelligence of the people of Michigan.”
An attorney for the governor argued the petition’s language was not factual, and it is confusing, in part because it had no punctuation.
