Unemployment rates in both the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek labor markets were down nearly a percentage point in March, compared to a year ago.
The seasonally unadjusted jobless rate in the Kalamazoo market was 4.2% last month. It was 5.1% in Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties in March of last year.
Unemployment in the Battle Creek labor market was 4.6%, compared to 5.4% in Calhoun County in March of 2015.
