Michigan Congressman Fred Upton wants the federal government to label North Korea as a sponsor of terrorism. Upton joined other U.S. House leaders in passing two bills Monday that restrict trade and foreign aid to North Korea.

In a press release, Upton said that the country has threatened American lives with nuclear weapons. The legislation urges the State Department to re-list North Korea as a sponsor of terrorism. Both bills had bipartisan support in the House.
