On November 8, 2024, Grand Rapids grandest super group will take the stage for one night only. St. Sinner’s 14 musicians will be joined by the 8 member Beer City Saxes, each playing their own sets and then joining forces on a number of songs. Dubbed “A Night of Sax & Violins,” it promises to be a glorious musical collision you don’t want to miss!

Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld as the “best young up and coming comic,” comedian Mark Normand is bringing his Ya Don’t Say Tour to the historic Kalamazoo State Theatre November 8th.
Mark Normand is quickly becoming one of the most talked about touring comedians on the scene. Normand’s recent one-hour Netflix special, SOUP TO NUTS, has been a staple in the streamers’ Top Ten since its July 25th premiere. This follows Normand’s self-released special, 2020’s “Out to Lunch” which amassed over 12 million views on YouTube. He also starred on Netflix’s Season 3 of The Stand Ups.
An extremely prolific stand-up, he previously had two Comedy Central special and has made an unparalleled seven appearances on “Conan,” four appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” and has also appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Mark is a frequent guest on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and hosts his own podcasts “Tuesdays with Stories” and “We Might Be Drunk.”

142 Years of Tibbits Opera House” is a vibrant celebration of Coldwater's beloved landmark! Step into a visual time machine and explore the theater’s splendor through an eclectic mix of paintings, dazzling photographs, and whimsical sculptures that showcase its stunning architecture, legendary moments, and cultural influence.
But that’s not all—prepare to be delighted by a treasure trove of historical artifacts, including vintage posters and quirky memorabilia, that add a touch of nostalgia to the exhibit. Whether you’re a history aficionado, an art enthusiast, or simply intrigued by the stories behind this historic gem, “142 Years of Tibbits Opera House” promises an exciting and inspirational journey that brings the theatre’s enduring charm to life in the most captivating way.
The Tibbits Art Gallery is located on the lower level of the Tibbits Opera House and is open one hour prior to events and by appointment Monday-Friday 9am-5pm by calling (517) 278-6029. Art Gallery exhibits are coordinated by Arts Alive, an organization that hosts gallery exhibitions. While visiting the theatre, patrons have the opportunity to select their favorite piece during each exhibition. A People’s Choice Award is given to the top 3 artists from each exhibit. Artists are also able to sell their work with a small commission going to Arts Alive.
Once a month, Arty the Art Detective will guide young learners through reading, making, and looking! Join us for this free program designed for children 4–8 (but other ages welcome!).
Join Arty to learn about abstract expressionist artist Helen Frankethaler. We’ll read a story about her childhood, create a project inspired by her artwork, and explore some of the abstract works currently hanging in the galleries.
