Fontana Chamber Arts presents saxophonist RudreshMahanthappa and his band at the Wellspring Theatre this Saturday, featuring blazingly original music from his just-released album Gamak

Mahanthappa talks about his early listening experiences from childhood through college, and expresses his preference for live concerts over albums, saying that with live music, social change is possible.

The other players on Saturday’s concert are David Fiuczynski (guitar), François Moutin (bass) and Gene Lake (drums). Mahanthappa praises the unique contributions of each, and also breaks down the structure and creation process of a few of his new tunes on Gamak.

Cara Lieurance covers local music with live morning interviews, and produces WMUK's Let's Hear It weekday mornings at 10 am Mon-Fri, showcasing local interviews and performances. She also produces The Pure Drop, an hour of Celtic music, with musician Dave Marlatt.
