The Battle Creek Symphony presents “An Evening with the Royals” this Saturday at 7:30 pm in W.K. Kellogg Auditorium, led by music director and conductor Anne Harrigan

Inspired by the music performed at the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011, the program includes works by English greats William Walton, Edward Elgar, and Gerald Finzi, and features the Symphony No. 7 of Beethoven as its centerpiece. With her usual vivacity, Ms. Harrigan goes to the heart of the music to see what makes it tick. She describes the choral contributions of Ars Voce and the Battle Creek Boychoir, and mentions a special guest appearing in the finale.

Cara Lieurance covers local music with live morning interviews, and produces WMUK's Let's Hear It weekday mornings at 10 am Mon-Fri, showcasing local interviews and performances. She also produces The Pure Drop, an hour of Celtic music, with musician Dave Marlatt.
