The Kalamazoo Civic's Parrish Theatre will be transformed into a tropical paradise of dance and song that simmers with real-world issues in Once On This Island, beginning Feb 22. Ti Moune, the young girl who upsets the balance between the haves and the have-nots, will be played by Bri Edgerton, with Civic alum Anthony J. Hamilton directing, and Rob Lindsay leading the band from his guitar. Edgerton, Hamilton, Lindsay and marketing director Janet Gover join Cara Lieurance to talk about how this escapist fantasy will leave you thinking about how we treat each other in real life.

Once On This Island runs from Feb 22 - Mar 10 at the Parrish Theatre.

You can stay in touch with WMUK music on FacebookTwitter, and by signing up for our eNewsletter.

Cara Lieurance covers local music with live morning interviews, and produces WMUK's Let's Hear It weekday mornings at 10 am Mon-Fri, showcasing local interviews and performances. She also produces The Pure Drop, an hour of Celtic music, with musician Dave Marlatt.
