Governor Snyder came to Southwest Michigan this week to try and rally support for expanding Medicaid.

State House Speaker Jase Bolger made the case in a guest column for MLive Kalamazoo. But the proposal has passed the House with bi-partisan support. It's stalled in the state Senate.

Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville has convened a working group of Republican Senators (MLive story). They plan meetings during the summer on the Medicaid issue.

Gongwer News Service editor Zach Gorchow blogs about how needing a majority of Republican Senators has complicated the issue.
