The U.S. Transportation Department has approved $750,000 in emergency relief for flooding in Southeast Michigan.
The Gongwer News Service reports that the federal money was approved to help cover the cost of repairing roads and bridges that were damaged in the flooding last week.
The money comes from the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program. As permanent repairs are made and cost estimates completed, more federal money is expected.
