(MPRN-Sterling Heights) Ohio Gov. John Kasich brought his presidential campaign to southeast Michigan on Monday.
The Republican presidential hopeful toured a business incubator in Sterling Heights and spoke with a handful of supporters. He took some jabs at Donald Trump’s policy positions while speaking with reporters.
“This is all a matter of issues. I don’t think we should, like, force Muslims to report to the federal government and register,”
said Kasich. The visit comes on the same day the super PAC supporting Kasich released its first attack ad targeting Trump. The ad – titled “Trumps Greatest Hits - Part 1” – features some of the Donald’s most controversial statements.
Kasich didn’t have much to say about the ad on Monday.
“Haven’t seen any of the ads and I’m not connected to it, so not much I can tell you.”
But he told reporters it’s important to challenge policy positions that would be bad for the country.
“It’s nothing more than that. I don’t have any personal feelings or any personal animosity towards any of the candidates. It’s just important that we get our policies right so that we can beat Hillary in the fall.”
