Long-time educator Juanita Goodwin is this year’s winner of the Kalamazoo YWCA Lifetime Woman of Achievement Award.
Goodwin retired in 1992 after a varied teaching career in the Kalamazoo Public Schools. She was the first African-American woman in the district to become principal of a secondary school. Goodwin will be honored at an event on May 5th.
