Dr. Scott Boerma and Dr. Trey Harris joined Cara Lieurance to preview a 3 pm concert on Sunday Feb 16 shared by the WMU Concert Band and WMU Wind Symphony, and 7:30 pm concert on Monday, Feb 17 featuring the WMU Symphonic Band. Both will be held in Miller Auditorium, and both share the same guest artist: soprano Lindsay Kesselman.
Kesselman, a Grammy-nominated performer, will sing John Mackey's Places we can no longer go on Sunday with the Wind Symphony. A deeply personal piece, it tracks the path of the composer's mother through her dementia. On Monday, Kesselman returns to sing Words of Love by James Mobberly with the Symphonic Band, a work the composer based on love letters his father wrote to his mother.
