The Western Michigan University Board of Trustees has a approved a tuition increase of 3.2 percent for the next academic year. Had it raised tuition any higher, it would have risked losing state funding.
The Board made the decision at its regular meeting Wednesday. The university says in-state, full-time students will pay just over $11,000 in tuition and fees to attend Western in 2015-2016. The Board also approved its next general fund budget and a state-required “five-year capital outlay plan.”
