Kalamazoo has been home to one of the country's most prestigious competitions for young people for the past 38 years. Saturday, the Stulberg International String Competition returns with performances by twelve semi-finalists during the day and a final concert by six finalists in the evening.

Incoming director Margaret Hamilton and board members Renata Knific and Chris Shook discuss the events for the weekend, which include the competition on Saturday, and masterclasses on Sunday. They also profile several of the semifinalists, who hail from across the country as well as China.

Cara Lieurance covers local music with live morning interviews, and produces WMUK's Let's Hear It weekday mornings at 10 am Mon-Fri, showcasing local interviews and performances. She also produces The Pure Drop, an hour of Celtic music, with musician Dave Marlatt.
