GR Symphony cellist revels in chamber music in Saugatuck

Grand Rapids Symphony

Cellist Alicia Eppinga, principal cellist of the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, is one of the featured performers at the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck this weekend.

She talks to Cara Lieurance about the varied program of Schubert, Schoenfield, and Schumann. Ms. Eppinga also recalls a special magic in a Beethoven performance last season between herself and violinist Jennifer Walvoord and pianist Drew Le, the co-directors of the festival. She anticipates another memorable performance when they perform as a trio again this year.

Cara Lieurance is the local host of NPR's All Things Considered on 1021 WMUK and covers local arts & culture on Let's Hear It on 89.9 Classical WMUK weekday mornings at 10 - 11 am.
