Fund Created To Create "Safer Communities" After Kalamazoo Shooting

Non-profit groups in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek have established a fund to respond to community needs after Saturday night’s shooting in Kalamazoo. 

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation, Battle Creek Community Foundation and the United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region released a statement saying they plan to work with other non-profit groups on creating safer communities now and in the future.

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
