Harpsichordist Jory Vinikour brings French, German baroque elegance to Gilmore fest

Kobie van Rensburg

Harpsichordist Jory Vinikour, a dual citizen of France and the United States, made his debut at the 2014 Gilmore International Keyboard Festival this week with a program of works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Mr. Vinikour and Cara Lieurance have a conversation about the technique and style specific to the composers and the instrument, and his recent return to the United States after a long period living in France.

Cara Lieurance is the local host of NPR's All Things Considered on 1021 WMUK and covers local arts & culture on Let's Hear It on 89.9 Classical WMUK weekday mornings at 10 - 11 am.
