Western Jazz Quartet Ignites New Chemistry with Album, Concert

wmujazz.com

The Western Jazz Quartet lost three of its founding members in 2012, but barely skipped a beat in re-forming a new group.

This Friday, saxophonist Andrew Rathbun, pianist Jeremy Siskind, drummer Keith Hall and founding member bassist Tom Knific will show off the result of their first collaboration: a full-length album filled with new, original compositions.

The members of the Western Jazz Quartet joined Cara Lieurance to preview the new album and the concert.

Cara Lieurance is the local host of NPR's All Things Considered on 1021 WMUK and covers local arts & culture on Let's Hear It on 89.9 Classical WMUK weekday mornings at 10 - 11 am.
