Seeking Transcendence: St Olaf Choir In Kalamazoo

stolaf.edu

Anton Armstrong sees each member of the St. Olaf Choir as an emerging adult, whose participation in the world-renowned choir will affect the whole person, not just his or her musicianship.

The Kalamazoo Bach Festival will present the St. Olaf Choir in a concert in Chenery Auditorium on Sunday. In an interview with Cara Lieurance, he discusses the mission of the century-old choir as part of the St. Olaf College curriculum, as well as the 2015 tour, which takes the choir to thirteen states.

Cara Lieurance is the local host of NPR's All Things Considered on 1021 WMUK and covers local arts & culture on Let's Hear It on 89.9 Classical WMUK weekday mornings at 10 - 11 am.
